About Tayla
Meet Tayla, a bright and bubbly girl who will light up your life with her affectionate and playful spirit. This cuddly canine is sure to win your heart with her cheeky personality and gentle nature. Tayla adores people and thrives on attention, forming bonds effortlessly with every friendly face she encounters. Her day is filled with energetic short zoomies, active play, and delightful walks that show off her perfect loose-lead walking skills. Once she's tuckered out, she'll happily curl up on her bed, ready for a peaceful nap until the next adventure awaits.
Though Tayla has made a full recovery from her earlier injury and is living life to the fullest, she does stand oddly due to a previous racing injury. That does not slow her down. In fact, this tenacious gal loves nothing more than playing with doggy friends and would enjoy living with a medium to large-sized canine pal. When meeting new dog friends, she can be a bit tense initially but quickly settles into playtime bliss!
Tayla would be best in a carpeted home or a place where rugs and mats provide her with the confidence needed for secure footing, as she finds smooth floors intimidating. Her ideal home could be an apartment or a house with a small backyard. She is great with children aged five and older, and her heartwarming nature makes her a joy to be around for the whole family. She also loves water and will lay down in a paddle pool to cool off on those warmer days.
Tayla has already experienced living in a home and quickly adapted, though this quirky sweetheart has a habit of collecting household treasures like shoes and pillows without causing any damage. While she is yet to be tested with pocket pets and cats, her lovely demeanour suggests she would fit into most households with relative ease. She also readily figured out a doggy door.
If you're looking for a loyal and fun-loving companion who will be your snuggle buddy and adventure partner, look no further than Tayla. With her by your side, every day is filled with love, joy, and delightful moments.
Medical notes
Has had a dental clean recently. During which she was discovered to have a condition called CUPS or CCUS.
Chronic Ulcerative Paradental Stomatitis (CUPS) recently had a name change to Canine Chronic Ulcerative Stomatitis (CCUS). This is a condition that is common in greyhounds and other breeds and is a painful mouth condition in dogs where the immune system reacts too strongly to normal bacteria and plaque on the teeth. This hypersensitivity means that at home dental care is a must (e.g. brushing teeth and dental diets) and they will require more regular dental cleans and check-ups.
This is a lifelong condition that can be managed through medication in conjunction with good dental care at home. Tayla will come with any medication she is currently on and an at home care plan for what she will need once adopted.
If you have any questions, please contact Anna (anna.rogers@tafesa.edu.au) for a further and more detailed discussion.
