Meet Bessie! 💕

Some greyhounds need a little time to discover the joys of home life. Not Bessie! This gorgeous 2-year-old girl walked into foster care and made herself right at home, as though she'd been someone's beloved pet all along.

Bessie is an absolute gem with a beautiful balance of playful energy and laid-back greyhound charm. When the house is quiet, she's perfectly happy finding her favourite spot and snoozing the day away. But the moment she senses her humans might have a little time for her, she's racing over for cuddles!

And goodness, does this girl LOVE her cuddles! If you let her, she'll happily turn herself into a lap dog on the couch. Sometimes, when you come over to give her some affection, she'll flop straight onto her back, presenting her tummy for a good rub. She's an absolute sweetheart who simply adores being loved.

Bessie has taken to home life beautifully. She's mastered the doggy door and the stairs, has not had a single toileting accident and happily sleeps through the night. She currently shares her foster home with multiple greyhounds and whippets and comfortably spends several hours without her humans around.

While Bessie loves living with other dogs, she also has a wonderful ability to entertain herself and settle down independently. We think she could be equally happy as an only dog, provided she has the right routine and companionship. She's also polite when greeting dogs of other breeds.

Out on walks, Bessie is lovely on the lead. The big wide world is still full of exciting new sights and sounds, and sometimes you can see her taking it all in. But she keeps moving along like a little champion, and with time and routine, her confidence will only continue to grow.

Being a young girl, Bessie will enjoy some daily enrichment, playtime and opportunities to explore. She could suit either a house or apartment, depending on the lifestyle and routine her new family can offer. She's also a big fan of children, especially those who are happy to shower her with pats!

Bessie really is the whole package. Affectionate, playful, easygoing and so eager to be the best girl for her humans. She has so much love to give and is just waiting for a family to call her own.
