About Chai
Chai
If you're searching for a cat who can turn any house into a home, meet Chai. Sweet, gentle, and wonderfully adaptable, this muted calico girl has a gift for fitting right in wherever life takes her.
Chai is the kind of cat who doesn't ask for much. She's happy to spend her days quietly keeping you company, supervising household activities from a cozy spot nearby, and accepting affection with her trademark calm contentment. While she may not be the loudest personality in the room, her loving nature shines through in all the little ways that make sharing your life with a cat so special.
One of Chai's greatest qualities is her easygoing outlook on life. Children? No problem. Other cats? She's happy to share her space. Dogs? She's willing to make new friends there too. Whether she's joining a bustling family home or settling into a quieter household, Chai takes things in stride and is ready to become a beloved member of the family.
Her gentle nature and happy-go-lucky attitude make her the perfect companion for just about anyone. She's content to adapt to your routine, find her favorite sunny windowsill, and remind you every day that the best things in life are often the simplest.
If you're looking for a sweet, quiet companion who will effortlessly make herself at home and fill your days with gentle affection, Chai is ready to meet you. All she needs is a family to call her own. 🩷

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
