Sarge

Sarge is an extremely vocal, chatty boy and will talk back to you if you start talking to him. He would love to be your best friend if you live in a quiet household, and though he can be nervous to start, once you have earned his trust he will follow you like a shadow! 

Though more senior in years, he still has the personality of a kitten and has many endearing traits. He goes berserk for fabric or string/snake like toys, rubs up against everything in the house and is extremely curious. A most prominent hobby of his is rolling and stretching on smooth cool floors.

Among many special quirks, Sarge also really enjoys the feeling of gripping soft materials including mattresses, leather and carpet, and has been known to dig his claws in so he can stretch while kneading. Though he is very gentle while doing so, potential adopters should keep in mind that if these materials are not provided for him to use, he will try and find a couch or mattress to scratch on and definitely prefers this to cardboard/sisal scratch posts and boards.

Sarge loves sitting or looking out of windows, but his favourite napping spot is anywhere dark and cosy. When you aren't home, he loves crawling under blankets during winter, cave-like cat beds, or even wardrobes. If you are home, he will try and find a dark spot as close to you as possible, so putting a nice cave like bed next to an area you sit at most would make him a happy chap!

He chooses to be where his favorite person is all the time; occasionally he will sit on your lap BUT only under his terms! Gentle pats are OK but can become quickly overstimulating, so his ideal adopter can read his cues when he needs space. 

Sarge showcases his adorable personality most confidently when there are fewer people in the house, although he would be open to a quiet family home with teens or older children. He has spent time in a four person household but he will never leave his favourite person's side - except for treats!

He’s been perfect using his litter box, but has another funny tendency of scratching the walls before and after toileting. His foster parent put some cardboard on the walls as an alternative for him to scratch. 

With some time to adjust and build his confidence in a new home, Sarge will reward you with loyalty, and of course his trademark quirks, chirps and banter.
