About Grace STA015349
Meet Grace, a stunning lady with a beautiful black coat and magnificent green eyes that are sure to capture your heart. This gorgeous girl is an incredibly shy and sensitive soul who finds the world a little overwhelming. Grace isn't one to rush into making friends, and she will need plenty of time, patience and understanding to feel safe and secure in her forever home. But beneath that timid exterior is a very sweet girl who is slowly discovering just how wonderful love and affection can be. Day by day, Grace has been finding her courage, and she has even started demanding pats and attention from her favourite staff members.
Grace is looking for a very special, cat-savvy person who understands that trust takes time and that the smallest steps forward are worth celebrating. Her perfect home will be quiet, calm and predictable, without children, canines or other felines. Grace is also FIV positive, so she must have a safe and secure indoor-only home to protect her health and prevent transmission to other cats in the neighbourhood. She needs someone who will respect her boundaries, allow her to settle at her own pace and never pressure her for attention before she's ready. Grace may not be an instant cuddle companion, but she's already showing us that she has so much love to give once she feels safe. If you have a gentle heart, a peaceful home and the patience to help this beautiful girl blossom, Grace could be your perfect match. Sometimes the most rewarding friendships are the ones that take a little time to grow!

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
