About Jack SUK015799
Meet Jack, a handsome young guy with a big personality and a mind of his own! This gorgeous boy knows exactly what he wants, who he likes and, more importantly, who he doesn't! Jack isn't one to pretend to be everyone's best friend, and if you're not on his list of favourite people, he'll have no hesitation in letting you know. But if you're lucky enough to be one of his chosen few, you'll discover a sweet young fellow who is more than happy to enjoy plenty of pats, attention and affection.
Despite his confident opinions, Jack is still young and is learning that people can be trusted. Beneath that sometimes tough exterior is a little fellow who wants to feel safe and loved but isn't quite sure how to let his guard down. He needs a patient, understanding and cat-savvy person who will respect his boundaries, allow him to build trust at his own pace and appreciate that friendship with Jack is something to be earned, not demanded. He may also benefit from sharing his home with a friendly, confident feline companion who can show him the ropes and help him discover that life with humans can be pretty wonderful.
Jack would love a calm, understanding home where he can continue to grow in confidence and develop into the wonderful young man we know he can be. He's not looking for someone who expects instant cuddles or endless affection, but rather a special person who will give him the time, patience and encouragement he deserves. If you're willing to let Jack choose you, rather than the other way around, you might just find yourself with a loyal, affectionate and wonderfully entertaining feline friend. After all, being one of Jack's chosen people is a pretty special honour!

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
