About Bruce STA015611
G'day, my name's Bruce, and I'm a no-nonsense sort of bloke who's looking for a comfortable place to call my own. I've spent too long living on the streets, fending for myself and defending what's mine. Life wasn't always easy, let me tell you! These days, I've discovered the joys of a warm bed, regular meals delivered right to my doorstep and the wonderful feeling of being able to close my eyes knowing I'm safe.
Now, don't let my tough exterior fool you. Deep down, I'm a big softy, and the lovely people here even call me a big sweetheart! I'm not one to wear my heart on my sleeve straight away, though. I've spent a long time looking after myself, so learning to trust someone new takes a little time. I'll need you to be patient, give me my space and let me get to know you at my own pace. Once I feel safe and comfortable, you'll discover my affectionate side, and I'm told it's well worth the wait!
As for my plans, I'm keeping things simple. A quiet, peaceful home, a comfy bed, good food and a special human to call my own. I'm not interested in sharing my home with children, canines or other felines. I reckon I've earned the right to be the one and only king of my castle! If you're a patient, understanding person who appreciates a handsome bloke with a little character and a whole lot of heart, perhaps you and I could be the perfect team. What do you reckon, mate?

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
