About Joe Black
Joe Black is at that wonderful, challenging stage of life where he's left puppyhood behind but still has plenty of youthful enthusiasm to spare. This handsome teenage Rottweiler is looking for an experienced guardian who can continue guiding him as he learns the skills he needs to become the best version of himself.
Joe is currently working on his manners and making great progress, but he will need a home committed to providing ongoing training, structure and clear boundaries. Like many adolescent dogs, he can become excited and bouncy when interacting with people, and his size means those happy moments can easily overwhelm smaller family members. Joe also needs guided introductions with new people - he is not shy when it comes to bouncing about and can easily intimidate.
For these reasons, Joe Black is seeking an adult-only home with people with large breed experience who understand how to respectfully interact, supervise and set boundaries with large breed dogs. He will thrive with someone who appreciates the Rottweiler breed, understands the importance of consistency, and is prepared to invest the time needed to help him continue learning.
Joe enjoys human companionship and would love a guardian who can include him in daily activities while helping him build confidence and good habits through positive training and enrichment. Joe is good in the car although is reluctant to jump into high vehicles and won't appreciate help in until he gets to know his handler.
Joe has not been tested with cats, and we are not recommending a home with cats, livestock, or small pets. Joe is easily riled by other male dogs and would require a well socialised female dog who can withstand his bouncy ways. His future home should be one where any resident animals are carefully considered with his needs and management requirements in mind.
With guidance, patience and leadership, Joe Black has all the potential to mature into a loyal, devoted companion. If you're experienced with large breed dogs and are looking for a young Rottweiler to shape into an incredible lifelong mate, Joe might just be the perfect fit.
