❤️ MEET STELLA
Some dogs are very special, and Stella is one of them.
She's a strong, healthy, young Kelpie girl with an extraordinarily gentle nature. Affectionate, intelligent and endlessly eager to please, Stella seems to have one ambition in life — to make her humans happy.
She'll gently nudge you for affection, offer you her paw or simply look at you as though asking, "What would you like me to do?"
She's just as happy relaxing beside you watching television as she is playing in the backyard. And she absolutely loves sharing the hammock with her favourite little human!
💕 NINE BEAUTIFUL PUPPIES — AND NOW IT'S STELLA'S TURN
Stella came into ARK care from the pound in the early stages of pregnancy. She went straight into a loving foster home, where she gave birth to nine gorgeous puppies and proved herself to be a most wonderful mother.
Now her puppies are growing up and heading off to their forever homes, and it's time for Stella to start a new chapter.
She's been a wonderful mum. Now it's time for Stella to have a life of her own. ❤️
🐶 A FRIEND TO EVERYONE
Stella adores the children in her foster family and is especially devoted to her foster dad, Jamie.
She gets along beautifully with the dogs she knows, particularly Finny, the resident dog, whom she absolutely loves. And we have no reason to think she wouldn't be just as friendly with other dogs, if properly introduced.
And then there's Fergus, the family cat. Stella would dearly love to snuggle up with him, although Fergus isn't quite so enthusiastic about the idea!
She's confident, affectionate and friendly with people, takes treats gently and responds beautifully to praise.
🏡 A WONDERFUL FAMILY DOG
Stella is house-trained, respects fencing and knows basic commands, including sit, come and out.
She's very intelligent and highly motivated by food and praise, making her a pleasure to train.
Because she came into care pregnant, Stella hasn't had much opportunity to learn proper lead manners and can be strong on the lead. She'll benefit from patient, consistent training.
She's fine travelling in the car, although getting in and out is still a little unfamiliar and makes her nervous. She needs to be lifted in and out, but that's a short term issue that will be overcome once she gets used to the car.
❤️ HER IDEAL HOME
Stella is an absolute all-rounder who would make a wonderful family companion.
She'd be equally happy playing with the children, spending time with a friendly dog or relaxing indoors with her favourite humans.
She needs a loving home where she'll be included in everyday family life, with plenty of companionship, affection and indoor privileges.
After giving so much love to her nine puppies, Stella deserves a family who will make her the centre of their world.

Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
