About Pumpkin
Hi, I'm Pumpkin!
There are two very important things you should know about me up front.
One: My foster family says I’m a bit like a dog. I greet you at the door with a sweet little meow. I follow you around. I burrow under the blankets when it's cold and stay there until morning. I'm unbothered by washing machines, dryers, guests, and general household noise. I'm affectionate and playful, and I've been described as one of the easiest cats my foster family has met.
Two: I’m a short king. This has practical implications. I need a wide, flat bowl on the ground for my biccies, because I can't quite reach properly into anything taller. (I wasn't trying to make a mess, it was just physics!) Now I have my special short-boy bowl, I'm a much tidier eater. My shortness also makes me, undeniably, adorable.
I love a scratching post and a good fishing rod toy, and I'll happily entertain myself if you're busy. My foster family thinks I'd make a great bird-watcher if given the opportunity, and I'd like to test that theory!
I came into foster care a bit timid, hiding from every new noise. But within a couple of weeks I'd figured out that this “house” thing was actually a great deal, and I settled right in. I'm happy on my own during the workday and I've adapted to every routine I've been shown.
A quiet home would work for me. A busy one would too. Just bring me a wide bowl, a warm blanket, tell me I’m handsome, and I'll be all yours!
Medical notes
Pumpkin has inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which is currently well managed with a Royal Canin Hypoallergenic diet. This diet has resolved Pumpkin’s previous digestive upset and loose stools, so it’s important that he remain on this prescribed diet to keep his tummy happy and symptoms under control.
