About Mittens
Hi, I’m Mittens!
I'm a curious, cheeky girl who's still figuring out this whole “home” thing.
I came into foster care nervous and glued to the safe blanket on the couch. Now I roam the place like I own it, and I spend a lot of time looking out the windows wondering what's going on out there!
I’m a little bit particular about how you love me. Head scratches are excellent. Long pats down my back are also approved. However I feel that being picked up is unnecessary, and under-the-chin scratches will not be added to the agenda at this time. I show my love in return by curling up on your lap and giving you slow blinks from a comfortable distance.
I have a few quirky little habits my foster family thinks are adorable, like wrapping my tail neatly around my feet when I sit, and doing The Ultimate Biiiiig Stretch when I wake up.
Apart from being super cute, I’m also a serious hunter… although my prey is usually a hair tie or whatever happens to be dangling from a fishing rod toy. When I’m not stalking something across the floor, you’ll find me on a warm blanket or perched on a windowsill watching the world outside.
I’d suit a home where someone is often around, but I’m also perfectly content doing my own thing during the workday. I’m great with kids, although a quieter household would fit me better than a home full of loud visitors.
I’m looking for a forever home. If you choose to make me part of your family, I promise to keep your windows supervised, your hair ties well exercised, and your blankets thoroughly loved!

Beagle Freedom Cats have all been rescued from research environments, and their early life experiences are very different from most rescue cats. This shapes how they view the world, and how they interact with new people and places. When you give a BFA cat a chance, you’re saving their life and helping create space for the next research cat to be rescued.
