About Curious George
Meet George, a handsome 4-year-old black domestic medium-hair who is basically the feline version of Curious George. Full of curiosity, a little bit independent, endlessly endearing, and always ready for a gentle adventure.
Just like the famous little monkey, our George has found himself in need of a new chapter. His current person moved in with a partner who has a dog, and unfortunately the two simply couldn’t become friends. Rather than force a situation that wasn’t working, his owner made the kind but difficult decision to find George a home where he can feel completely secure.
We’re advertising him on their behalf in the hope he can go straight from his current home into his forever one.
George is the perfect mix of independent and affectionate. He doesn’t demand constant attention and is perfectly happy entertaining himself for large parts of the day - much like Curious George when he’s left to his own devices (minus the chaos… mostly). But when he does want connection, he seeks it out in the sweetest ways: soft trills and chirps just to check in on you, head butts, and melting into your arms once you’ve earned his trust.
He is extremely comfortable being picked up and will go completely soft and relaxed in the right person’s hold.
After dinner is playtime. George absolutely loves chasing a laser or string toy through his favourite tunnel, and he has a particular soft spot for a good Amazon box fitted with a scratching mat. He enjoys being playfully chased into it, then stretches out long and proud once the game is over.
A sunny window perch for bird-watching or a secure outdoor area for lazy sunbathing would make this little explorer very happy indeed. He adores a gentle pat on the top of the head or under the chin, and one of his absolute favourite combinations is being brushed while receiving a creamy treat.
True to his independent nature, he will always let you know when he’s had enough stimulation and needs a little time to himself - clear communication that makes living with him easy and low-drama.
George would be best suited to an experienced cat person who understands that the best friendships take a little time, and who can offer him a calm home as the only pet. With space to settle, a few favourite toys, a good window, and a patient human ready to be his Man (or Woman) with the Yellow Hat, this curious, affectionate boy will thrive.
George is approximately 4 years old, has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and is located in Cranbourne West.
If you’re looking for a handsome black companion who balances quiet independence with genuine affection, and who will fill your home with soft chirps, playful energy and melting cuddles, George could be the perfect match.
Please get in touch with George's current owner Shaun if you think you can offer this modern-day Curious George the safe, loving adventure he deserves.

About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
How You Can Help

We are always in need of foster carers. If you have a safe, loving temporary home and would like to help us care for a cat on their journey to their forever family, please get in touch. The more foster homes we have, the more cats we can save.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
