About Bindi
Special notes from a foster mum for a special little one
Positives:
. Very affectionate
. Confident - sometimes a bit too confident!!
. People focused
. Crate trained
. Good independence - I have left her alone for 5 hours when taking my dogs
out and she's fine
. Smart as a whip and a real problem solver
. Quick to learn / easily trained
. Can be calm and relaxed and but also energetic
. Can live with another tolerant dog
. Does not appear to have any food intolerances
Negatives:
. Can resource guard me and her food from my other dogs
. Can be a bit of an escape artist initially. Took her around 2 weeks with me to
stop trying escape under my gate
. When excited will chase my other dogs and heel nip them. If they tell her off
it fires her up more
. She is quite pushy and forceful with all dogs and will push for 'play' even when
they have had enough. Again, if they tell her off this will fire her up - typical
terrier!
. When she is being left alone, she can cry loudly for a very short period
. She has a very loud Shih Tzu bark and will alert to strangers
. Is worried about children and will bark at them
. Can be a bit of a fussy eater and likes variety
I think she needs a home where owners are prepared to treat her like a dog
that requires leadership and training, not just a lap dog, although she is very
happy being a lap dog too!
