About Flounder
Introducing Flounder!
Flounder is a Domestic Short Hair born approx 28th February 2025.
Flounder and four other cats were brought into the facility from an awful situation. These cats were found by a housing provider, over a week after their owner moved out & left them behind. They had no one caring for or feeding them and sadly we were too late to save a sixth cat from the property. They were forced to live in their own filth and were clearly terrified of the sitaution they were in. While the cats are now safe with us, the matter has been referred to NSW Police & RSPCA for a multi-agency review & cruelty investigation.
As you can imagine, all five cats were overwhelmed, confused, scared and didn't trust humans whatsoever. Since being with us, all five cats made incredible progress and gorgeous Flounder is now ready to start the search for his forever home.
Flounder is the last one left from his little family, as the rest of his household siblings have all been adopted. He seems to be a little confused about why he's by himself now, but he's continuing to make great progress with learning "how to cat". He's now learning how fun toys can be and his favourites (so far) are stuffed mice on a string & springs. He's recently started purring & "making pancakes" while being petted. This means he's not a lap cat as yet, but we're sure in time he'll be very affectionate with his favourite people.
If you get a lot of flies in your home, you're in luck! Flounder is an avid fly hunter and will climb anything he can (including fly screens) to reach them. He's also a very inquisistive boy who enjoys watching the birds & lizards outside the catio.
Flounder isn't a huge eater, however we've noticed that some of his favourite treats are Dine liquid treats, most fish treats & the Temptations Spoons.
As Flounder has come from a home with numerous other cats, we believe he would prefer a home with another cat to play with, however he could also grow to love being the spoilt only "child" at home.
Given that Flounder can still be timid when meeting new people, we believe young children would be too overwhelming for him, however he could be suitable to live with children over 12yrs. We would recommend doing a meet & greet with any children in the home to ensure the comfort of all parties.
Flounder will be rehomed to a family who will keep him as an inside cat only.
Flounder is litter trained and would make a wonderful addition to most quite households.
If you think you could be that furever family for Flounder, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.
His adoption fee is $270 & this includes his desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. He is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Flounder is currently located in East Maitland.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
