Nightwing is currently completing her legal impound period, but we're now accepting expressions of interest and arranging meet and greets with potential adopters. If her family doesn't come forward, this lovely girl will be ready to start her next chapter from 11 November.

✨ A MATURE, WELL-MANNERED GIRL

Despite arriving as a stray with no confirmed name or known history, Nightwing has shown us what an absolute gem she is.

She's beautifully behaved, mature beyond her years and has some seriously impressive manners. She knows her basic commands, including sit and drop, has good recall and listens well. She doesn't jump up on people, isn't vocal in her kennel and keeps her sleeping area clean overnight.

She's also not an escape artist — just a sweet, sensible girl who seems quite happy to go with the flow!

Nightwing is very food-motivated, which makes her a clever girl to work with and gives her new family a great foundation for further training. 🦴

🦮 WALKS BEAUTIFULLY ON LEAD

Nightwing walks very nicely on a harness and lead, with minimal pulling. She's a pleasure to handle and has been walking well around other dogs at the pound.

She's not reactive towards other dogs. In fact, she can happily ignore them and go about her business. She's a little shy and submissive around canine friends, so we'd be looking for a well-matched, friendly, desexed male dog if her new family has an existing dog. A meet and greet would be essential to ensure they're a good fit.

She's also a little unsure around high-traffic areas, so she may appreciate a quieter neighbourhood or a home where she can gradually build her confidence. We suspect she may have come from a more rural background, although sadly, her microchip details aren't up to date, so we're unable to obtain a full history from her previous owner.

🏡 WHAT SORT OF HOME IS SHE LOOKING FOR?

The lovely thing about Nightwing is that she could suit a variety of homes, from a property with room to explore to a suburban home with a family who will give her the love, exercise and companionship she deserves.

She's likely to be best suited to a mature household, perhaps with older children who understand how to give a shy dog space and time to settle in. Very young children can be unpredictable, so we'd want to assess her comfort levels during a meet and greet before deciding what age range would be appropriate.

Nightwing isn't a big, boisterous handful. She's a gentle, well-mannered girl who may take a little time to warm up, but underneath that initial shyness is a clever, sweet-natured companion waiting for her chance.

She's shown no food aggression in our care, which is another lovely quality to add to her growing list of positives.
