About Max
🐾 Meet Max, our very distinguished gentleman! 🐾
At 14 years young, Max has officially entered his retirement era, and he's got a pretty good idea of how he'd like to spend it. Think leisurely strolls, long naps, delicious meals and absolutely no unnecessary drama!
Max is a sweet, easygoing little man with a heart of gold and just the right amount of cheekiness. He's met dogs, cats, adults and children, and his general response to everyone is a polite *"Oh, hello"* before getting back to his very important business of doing absolutely nothing.
He's a big fan of a comfy bed, happily snoozes away most of the day and is perfectly content entertaining himself while you're out. He enjoys a little wander around the neighbourhood, although he's certainly not in a hurry to get anywhere!
Now, while Max is generally a quiet and relaxed gentleman, there is one thing he takes VERY seriously. Dinner time. 🍽️ He's not afraid to lodge a formal complaint if the kitchen is running behind schedule, and he'll happily remind you that his meal is the most important appointment of the day!
Max is making lovely progress with his toilet training and has mastered the dog door. He may still need a little patience as he perfects his routine, but he's getting there!
❤️ A little about Max's health
Max has Stage B2 Mitral Valve Disease (MMVD), a heart condition that requires ongoing care. He currently takes daily medication (Cardisure and frusemide) and will need regular veterinary monitoring, with a follow-up echocardiogram recommended around October 2027.
He also has some arthritis in his back legs and has previously undergone dental treatment, including extractions. All the more reason to enjoy life at his own pace!
🏡 Max's dream retirement home
Max isn't asking for much. A comfy bed (or three), someone to keep the dinner schedule running smoothly, and a loving family who appreciates the finer things in life, like afternoon naps.
He's happy around other animals but would be just as content as an only dog. Ideally, he'd love a calm household where he can potter about, enjoy his little walks and spend his golden years being thoroughly adored.
His new family will need to be comfortable managing his ongoing medication and veterinary care, but in return, they'll get a wonderfully sweet, low-fuss little companion.
If you've got a soft spot for golden oldies and a spare comfy bed, Max would love to meet you! ❤️
