About Walnut
Meet Little Walnut
Walnut is the tiniest member of our Mixed Nut kittens and just like her siblings Almond and Peanut, she has plenty of kitten fun and mischief to offer!
Being the smallest, Walnut is also the least confident of the three and relies heavily on her siblings for reassurance. When she is free-ranging around her foster home, however, she plays just as hard as the other kittens and certainly doesn't let her size hold her back.
Where Walnut needs a little more time is with people. She is still developing her social skills and needs a patient family who will allow her to build trust at her own pace. Once this tiny girl is safely tucked into your arms, she quickly settles and starts to purr so we know there is a very affectionate little personality waiting to emerge.
We would ideally like Walnut to have one of her siblings or another friendly, confident cat in her new home to help show her the ropes and give her that extra bit of reassurance. We have no doubt that with patience, love and the security of a permanent home Walnut will continue to blossom and become a much more confident little girl.
And let's not forget one very important thing — Walnut LOVES her food! She is always one of the first kittens to the bowl for breakfast and dinner.
Walnut has also been exposed to a Groodle in her foster home so she has some experience with dogs and should be fine living with a cat-friendly dog.
If you think Walnut could be the little nut you've been looking for, please complete the pre-adoption application under her profile on the AWL NSW website. If you are a suitable match, one of our volunteers will contact you to arrange a meet & greet.
📍 Walnut is in foster care in Kellyville with the Western Suburbs Branch.
Please see Almond and Peanut's profiles if you would love to meet Walnut's siblings too!
Adoption details
STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW: I will come desexed, vaccinated (1st F3) and microchipped and will have up to date worm and flea treatments.
ADOPTING ME: You must be able to provide me with a loving long term and safe home. I would be fine in an apartment as long as I didn't have free run of the balcony if it wasn't fully enclosed. Please ensure your house or apartment can contain a cat inside (ie fly screens etc).
Please remember that I have thought seriously about taking you on and when you take me home, I am committing to you for life. So, I hope you have thought seriously about this and are likewise planning on committing to me.
ABOUT YOU: Given you know all about me, my foster parents would like to know something about who my new parents are going to be. They have rescued me and have given me a lot of care and love. I know they love me and therefore want the best for me.
ABOUT US: AWL Western Suburbs branch wants to promote adoptions of cats from our foster carers & pounds. If you would like to help us, please feel free to contact us and find out how you may assist, including being a foster parent.
All adoptions will require a Pre-adoption application form completed and returned prior to a meet & greet with our cats. Please note that several people may be applying for the same cat so we need time to review all applicants. We do not re-home to the first to apply, we re-home to who best suits the needs of the cat or kitten. All applications will be considered individually and approval will be at the discretion of the AWL NSW Branch Representative, with their decision being final.
