About Flint
Meet Flint 💜
Flint is a beautiful, friendly, placid, goofy and sooky boy with so much love to give.
For nearly seven years, Flint lived with his beloved dad, and the two were the very best of friends. They did everything together - bike rides, fishing trips, walks to the park, BBQ's, couch cuddles - you name it, Flint was by his side.
Flint was incredibly loved and well cared for, but sadly, his owner passed away suddenly, leaving him with nowhere to go.
He is a very special boy who is loved by many (just like his dad was) and was well known as the big, friendly giant in his neighbourhood. We are committed to finding Flint the perfect loving home where he can enjoy the rest of his years being just as loved and cherished as he's always been.
A little about Flint
Weight: 42kg
Walks: Being a larger, older boy, Flint is fairly low energy these days, but he still loves a short wander and a good sniff, or even a little run around at the park.
Toys: Flint loves his squeaky toys and anything he can pick up and throw around!
People: Flint absolutely loves people of all ages, including children - he even loved the vet! He forms strong bonds with his person (or people) and will make the most wonderful, loyal companion.
Car rides: Flint is the perfect passenger and loves sticking his face out the window to enjoy the breeze (with his seatbelt on, of course!).
Naps: Flint takes his relaxation very seriously. He comes with his big indoor and outdoor beds, but if you're happy to share, he'd be more than delighted to sleep on the bed with you. He's also partial to a good sploot on the floor or hanging out on the couch for a cuddle.
Other dogs: Flint hasn't lived with other dogs, but he's reported to be dog social and had a few local doggy friends he enjoyed playdates with. He's also been friendly with dogs he's met on walks - sometimes he even has a little whimper because he's so keen to say hello and have a sniff!
Being an older gentleman, Flint would prefer the company of friendly, easy-going dogs with a similar energy level. He may be happy living with another calm dog, depending on a successful meet and greet.
Food: Flint needs to stick to a lower-fat diet, with no fatty human snacks. He experienced pancreatitis a few years ago after being treated to a few too many rich snacks, but has had no issues since.
Bath time: Not his favourite activity, but he'll tolerate a bath when he has to. The blow dryer, however, is a terrifying monster that he would prefer to have absolutely nothing to do with!
Cats: There is a cat in Flint's foster home, but unfortunately, Flint finds him a little too interesting and likes to chase him. For this reason, we feel Flint would be best suited to a home without cats.
Flint's perfect home 💜
Honestly, Flint is pretty much the perfect boy. He's so easy-going, affectionate and lovely to have around.
After spending his whole life as someone's much-loved companion, we'd really love to find him a home where he can enjoy that same closeness again.
Ideally, Flint would suit someone who is home more often than not (or perhaps has a pet-friendly workplace!) and is looking for a loyal companion to share their everyday life with.
He could be a wonderful fit for a family, couple, retirees or a single person wanting a best mate by their side. He may also be happy with a calm, friendly dog companion, depending on a successful introduction.
More than anything, Flint just needs someone who will love him, include him in their life, and give him the same companionship and affection he's always known.
Flint has already been someone's whole world, and we'd love nothing more than to see him become someone's whole world again. 💜
Medical Needs
Health: Flint has had a health check and is reported to be in great condition and perfect weight. He had a blood test and results were perfect. He had a small skin cancer removed from a bare spot on his belly (frozen off).
