About Nemo
Hello there! I'm Nemo, and I'm officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR NEMO
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/LeYLBzm8irspc15t8
Please Note: You'll only be able to meet Nemo if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
General:
•I'll need daily exercise - walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
•I MUST be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction for long periods.
•Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
•I'd love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
•Most importantly, I'm looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
•Because I can be shy in new situations, If going to a home with kids they will need to be gentle and calm around me.
•Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people, dogs, and other animals will help me grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
•Training, training, training - it's essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I can be.
Dog Compatibility:
•A home without small dogs would be best for me.
•A submissive female canine companion would suit me well - although I adore people and would also be perfectly happy as your one and only.
•I need a doggy companion to keep me company when my family isn't home, or a household where someone is around most of the time. I can feel lonely and a little anxious when left alone.
Cat / small animal:
•I was unsure around cats at the shelter and may become more inquisitive as my confidence grows. If I join a home with a cat, they'll need to be dog-savvy and introductions must be gradual and well managed.
Perks:
•I'm gentle and placid in nature,- I'm generally a well-mannered dog.
•I walk nicely on lead and with daily walks I'll only keep improving although I can pull strongly when I want to get to something.
•I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I'm quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
Training:
•I haven't had any formal training yet, so I'll need help with all my basic manners and life skills but I am a generally well mannered and calm boy.
•I may react to dogs that are reactive towards me. Controlled, positive socialisation experiences will help me build confidence.
•I'm shy in unfamiliar environments, and can startle easily with sudden movements/ loud noises so I'll need a patient family who will show me that I am safe now.
•I can feel anxious when left alone in the backyard. A home where I can spend plenty of time indoors, have lots of company, and be provided with enrichment toys or treats when alone would suit me best.
