About Rusty & Coco
πΎπ *MEET RUSTY & COCO β THE SHIH TZU DREAM TEAM! DOUBLE THE FLUFF, DOUBLE THE LOVE & TWICE THE TROUBLE!* ππΎ
π¨ *WARNING:* Reading this bio may result in an uncontrollable urge to adopt TWO dogs, buy matching beds and spend the rest of your life being lovingly supervised by a pair of fluffy little shadows! πβ€οΈ
Meet Rusty and Coco, two gorgeous Shih Tzus who are living proof that the best things in life come in pairs! These two are best friends, little companions and partners in all things cosy. They share a special bond, and wherever life takes them next, they must go together. πΆπ
Shih Tzus are known for their loving companion nature, and Rusty and Coco certainly know how to embrace that job! Think cuddles, company, cute little faces, a love of comfort and the ability to make themselves right at home. They're not looking for a marathon-running partner or someone who climbs mountains before breakfast. They're much more interested in finding their people, enjoying the good life and making every day a little sweeter!
β€οΈ *MEET RUSTY β THE GENTLE LITTLE GENTLEMAN*
At 6 years and 6 months old, Rusty is a calm, affectionate boy who prefers the quieter things in life. He's a little sweetheart who enjoys being close to his people, relaxing on the couch or bed, soaking up attention and enjoying a short stroll before deciding it's time to put his little paws up again.
Rusty is generally very quiet and loves a cuddle, a tasty treat and a good brushing session. He enjoys meeting people and has a gentle nature, but he does appreciate having his own space when he's settled on the couch or in bed. After all, even a little gentleman needs his beauty sleep! π
His toilet habits are improving, although he may occasionally leave a little scent mark. He's recently been desexed, and his new family will need to continue supporting him as he settles into his forever home.
Rusty would be happiest with older, respectful children aged 13 and over who understand that when a little dog is resting, his personal space should be respected. He's not a fan of being disturbed during his downtime, and we think that's fair enough!
At heart, Rusty is a loving, easygoing little companion who wants a comfortable home, gentle affection and someone to love. β€οΈ
π *MEET COCO β THE CURIOUS LITTLE CHARACTER*
At 2 years and 1 month old, Coco is the younger half of this adorable duo, bringing a little extra curiosity and playful energy to the partnership!
Coco is affectionate, adventurous and loves being around her humans. She enjoys cuddles, exploring, playing fetch and investigating whatever interesting things might be happening nearby. She's generally a quiet girl, but she may have something to say if she hears an unusual noise, spots a stranger or decides the neighbourhood needs to know she's on duty. ππΆ
Like many little companion dogs, Coco loves being part of the action and following her people around. She would happily snuggle up in bed with her humans if invited, although she currently sleeps with Rusty in their own bed.
Coco is toilet trained, enjoys the company of children of all ages and is comfortable around other dogs. She's also been around chickens and guinea pigs, showing some curiosity and occasional playful chasing, so supervision is important around smaller animals.
Walks are best kept short because those little legs tire out, and her lead manners are still improving. Coco can occasionally tug at the lead or try to slip her collar if she has to stop, so her family will need to keep her secure and continue working on her walking skills.
One very important thing to know about Coco: she can squeeze through surprisingly small gaps in fencing! This clever little escape artist needs secure fencing and a family who will keep a close eye on her. She may be small, but apparently she's been secretly training for a career in Houdini's circus! π
Coco loves treats, toys, praise and affection. She's a sweet, playful little companion who brings plenty of personality to the pair.
πΎ *TWO LITTLE DOGS, ONE VERY SPECIAL BOND*
Rusty and Coco must be adopted together. Their friendship is an important part of their lives, and we're looking for a family who can welcome both furkids into their home and hearts.
They'll need a loving home where they can enjoy indoor comforts, cosy sleeping spots, gentle walks, regular grooming and plenty of companionship. Both furkids will need regular brushing and occasional haircuts to keep their coats comfortable and looking their best.
Their ideal family will appreciate that little dogs still have their own personalities, boundaries and needs. Rusty enjoys his peaceful downtime, while Coco brings a little more curiosity and playfulness. Together, they make a lovely pair!
If you've been dreaming of two fluffy best friends to share your home, keep you company and make you smile with their little personalities, Rusty and Coco could be just the furkids you've been waiting for.
Just imagine coming home to two wagging tails, two adorable faces and twice the cuddles. The only real question is whether you'll have enough room on the couch! πβ€οΈ

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period β this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption - each bio will state if available for adoption - please check before applying.
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
