About Skylar
*This animal is currently at a foster home and not at the shelter* Meet Skylar 💕
Skylar is a gorgeous 6-month-old Kelpie who is equal parts sweet, curious and playful! This clever little lady is always keen to learn and loves exploring her surroundings, playing with her toys and spending time with her favourite dog friends.
Skylar is a gentle girl who enjoys being close to her people, but she prefers affection on her own terms. She absolutely loves simply hanging out alongside you, whether that’s relaxing on the lounge, enjoying a tasty chew or taking a nap nearby. She is still building her confidence and will thrive with an experienced owner who understands that patience, consistency and giving her space to process new things are key.
This clever girl already knows her name, sit, come and stay, and she happily heads to her crate when asked. She is eager to learn and will love having a family who can continue her training and give her plenty of positive experiences.
Skylar does enjoy the company of other dogs and has loved having a canine friend in foster care. However, she can be very enthusiastic when meeting other dogs and doesn't always recognise when they need a little space, so any resident dog will need to be the right personality and energy match. Slow, supervised introductions will be important.
Skylar would best suit a home without children under 15 and an experienced owner who is comfortable supporting a young dog who is still developing her confidence. A quieter household will suit her best, as she can be sensitive to loud noises and unfamiliar situations.
Skylar is looking for someone who will give her time, guidance and plenty of encouragement as she grows into the wonderful adult dog she is destined to be. In return, you'll have a sweet, affectionate and clever little Kelpie who is always ready for her next adventure. 💕
