About Gus
With his curiousity, cheeky personality and an endless appetite for fun, Gus is a little character who will keep you smiling from morning to night! But beneath that playful, mischievous side is a wonderfully affectionate boy who absolutely adores his humans and has so much love to give.
Gus is the perfect combination of playful adventurer and sweet little cuddle companion. He loves being around his people and will often follow you around, keeping a close eye on whatever you happen to be doing. Gus is happiest when he can be nearby, sharing in the everyday moments of his favourite humans.
And when it’s time to slow down, Gus has the sweetest little secret: his quiet, gentle purr! This affectionate boy enjoys lap time and loves having a chance to snuggle up with his people. There’s something especially lovely about having a playful little explorer settle down beside you, switch off from all the excitement and quietly purr away. Gus also absolutely adores being brushed, making grooming a wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time together and earn a few extra affection points.
But don’t let his cuddly side fool you — when it comes to playtime, Gus is an absolute powerhouse! This boy takes his hunting games VERY seriously. He’ll leap to incredible heights, launch his entire body at his unsuspecting toy prey and throw himself wholeheartedly into the chase. If there’s a toy on the move, you can be sure Gus has noticed it. Moving toys are simply irresistible, and even when he’s getting tired, he’ll often find the energy for just one more pounce. He could happily play for hours, so interactive play sessions are a fantastic way to keep his clever mind engaged and give that impressive athletic ability a workout.
Gus also has some excellent manners when it comes to his scratching post, which he uses like a champion. And when food is involved, this boy is certainly not shy about showing his enthusiasm. He’s very food motivated and won’t hesitate to let you know when he thinks mealtime should be happening. Gus can sometimes get a little overexcited about his food and eat too quickly, so a slow feeder is recommended to help him enjoy his meals at a more comfortable pace.
While Gus has plenty of confidence when it comes to chasing toys and exploring the things he loves, he’s still learning that the wider world can be a safe and comfortable place. Having spent much of his life in the pound since December 2025, Gus has become accustomed to smaller spaces, and larger, more open environments can sometimes feel a little overwhelming for him. He’s also still adjusting to loud noises, and his foster carer is making wonderful progress with him.
Because of this, Gus would benefit from a patient, understanding home where he can settle in at his own pace and a gradual introduction to an entire house. With time and love, Gus can continue building his confidence and discovering just how wonderful life outside the pound can be.
Gus is a special little soul with so many wonderful qualities to share. He’s curious, cheeky, affectionate and endlessly entertaining, with a sweet, gentle side that shines through when he’s curled up with his favourite people. He’ll bring you laughter with his spectacular toy-hunting acrobatics, companionship as he follows you around the house, and those lovely quiet purrs when it’s time to unwind.
If you’re looking for a playful, loving companion who will keep you entertained, enjoy a good lap cuddle and remind you that even the smallest everyday moments can be special, Gus might just be your perfect match. All he needs is someone willing to give him the time, patience and love to blossom into the happiest version of himself. ❤️

Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
