Hi, I'm Murphy, a very handsome house panther with a huge heart and an even bigger love for affection!

Nature
When I first arrived at the pound, I was terrified. I would growl and hiss because I didn't know who to trust, but the truth is, I was a softie all along. Once I found myself in a calm, safe environment, it didn't take long for my true personality to shine through. A few tasty treats helped win me over, too!

I haven't been in foster care for very long and i am still finding my confidence. I still like to hide under the bed in my safe spot. However, once I feel safe, I'm an incredibly affectionate and loving boy who adores scratches. I'm the kind of cat who will launch my whole body at you and demand pats, purr loudly when you scratch me and make sure you know just how much I enjoy being loved.

I an also extremely food-motivated, which definitely helps when it comes to making new friends.

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
I haven't met any other cats in foster care yet, but I would be fine with being slowly and carefully introduced to another friendly kitty.

I haven't been tested with dogs or children. As I'm still a shy boy, building my confidence, I'd probably be happiest in a quieter home without dogs or young children at this stage, where I can continue to settle in and feel secure.

Likes / Dislikes
❤️ Launching at my humans for an enthusiastic head bump.
❤️ Purring away while being scratched and fussed over.
❤️ Making air biscuits when I'm especially happy and content.
❤️ Food and treats (they're are part of my love languages!)
❤️ Snoozing under the bed in a cosy, safe spot.

I'm not so keen on;
❌ Loud noises or sudden movements
❌️ Dinner being late- unacceptable!

If you're not getting my scratches quite right, I'll gently let you know with a little tap of my paw. It's never aggressive, just my polite way of helping you improve your technique!

My PURR-fect home would be with a patient family who can see beyond my nervous beginnings and will give me the opportunity to continue blossoming into the confident, affectionate boy I was always meant to be.

My dream home is one where I can take things at my own pace while receiving plenty of love and reassurance. Once I trust you, you'll be rewarded with endless purrs, enthusiastic head bumps, air biscuits and a cat who will genuinely love being around his people. If you're looking for a companion who enjoys affection a much as receiving dinner, I might just be your perfect match.
