About Solaris
of newborn puppies turned into something even better. We were able to keep a mum and her babies together. ❤️
Solaris was able to raise her beautiful puppies in safety, surrounded by people who cared about them.
Her babies grew into wonderful little dogs, and one by one, they found their forever families.
Every single one of them.
But somehow, their beautiful mum was left behind 💔
And 10 months later, Solaris is still waiting for someone to give her the same happy ending her puppies received.

Solaris has spent her time in care living with a trainer and a dedicated foster mum who have poured so much love, patience and effort into helping her become the dog she is today.
And she has come such a long way!

🏡 WHAT SOLARIS NEEDS IN A HOME
Solaris is very much a German Shepherd at heart!
She's intelligent, active and thrives when she has clear boundaries, structure and someone confident to guide her.
We're looking for:
✅ An experienced, confident handler who understands German Shepherds or similar working breeds
✅ A home with clear boundaries, structure and a consistent routine
✅ Someone committed to continuing her training and building on the amazing work already done
✅ A patient family who understands that moving into a new home is a big adjustment
✅ Ideally, a friendly, well balanced male dog to help her feel comfortable and confident
✅ A family who enjoys adventures, training and keeping both her mind and body busy
🐕 HER PERFECT MATCH
Solaris is not necessarily going to be the dog who walks into a new home and immediately knows where she belongs.
She's spent 10 months building trust, learning routines and developing a beautiful relationship with her foster mum and trainer.
Leaving everything familiar behind will be a big change for her.
She may need time to settle, reassurance when things feel unfamiliar and someone who understands that building a relationship takes patience.
But the foundations are already there.
She knows how to learn. She enjoys training. She loves other dogs. She has experienced camping trips, river adventures, daycare and so much more.
What she needs now is someone willing to take everything she's learnt and continue building on it.
Solaris may need a little more guidance than some dogs, but for someone who loves intelligent working breeds, she has the potential to be an incredibly rewarding companion. ❤️

When Solaris came to us, she was a mum who needed someone to help her and her newborn babies.
We promised them safety, care and the chance at a better life.
Her puppies got that chance.
They grew up surrounded by love, went off to their wonderful families and started their happily ever afters.
And Solaris?
She's still here.
Still learning.
Still loving.
Still waiting.
Not because she's a bad dog. Not because she doesn't deserve a home. But because she needs a particular kind of person, and we haven't found them yet.
We don't want someone to adopt Solaris because they feel sorry for her.
We want someone to adopt Solaris because they see the incredible dog she is, understand what she needs and are excited to give her the life she deserves.
Her foster mum and trainer have given her an amazing foundation, and we are so grateful for everything they have done.
Now we just need someone to take the next step with her.

Adoption details
*Please only apply if you reside 4hrs from Shepparton
* You will have a list of questions sent that you need to answer and send back.
* (For dog applications) Photos are requested of your yard, the fencing and any undercover shelter areas (patio/pergola) that must be sent through along with answers to questions.
* It’s not first in best dressed and we pride ourselves in finding the perfect family home for the animals in our care and make sure each family finds the perfect animal as well.
* We feed our cats on Lifewise, bags are available to buy from us.
* We also offer a 2 week trial on all animals that are adopted from this rescue organisation, if returned during this time a refund less 10% is given.
* Meet and greets are always taken prior to adoption, on the day if all goes well and you are happy, you can adopt on the spot and take your animal home to begin the next chapter together. We don't offer more than 1 meet and greet.
