About Gertie / Sybil
Gertie & Sybil 🐾
Meet the two cutest senior ladies in town: Gertie & Sybil!
These two senior girls are 11 and 9 years young and still have plenty of personality and zest for life. They are a bonded pair and must be homed together.
Sybil is 11 years old and bonds very strongly to her humans. She loves to be by your side and is very vocal when she doesn’t get her way. She loves to play with toys and enjoys mealtimes like nobody’s business. Living with her foster carer she has been introduced to her favourite food, chicken meatballs! Sybil does have arthritis in her shoulder and hip and although she loves walks she would benefit from only two or three short walks a week.
Gertie is the cuddle bug of the two and has experienced a new lease on life after having her much needed dental procedure. Little Gertie had 25 teeth removed so although her appetite is big she does need a softer diet these days. She absolutely loves mealtimes and certainly lets you know if you forget dinner time! She loves a walk but her favourite past time is napping on the top of the couch next to her human. Now her teeth are fixed she has started to enjoy playtime again and has a new lease on life!
Due to their age these girls would be best in a single story home to avoid constant trips up and down stairs. They are also a little nervous with change and are not suitable to a busy home nor a home with young children. These two lovely ladies adore their people and would benefit from someone who is home most of the day. They do not like other dogs or pocket pets, all they need is each other and a wonderful human or two to keep them company.
These two girls are breeds that will need ongoing grooming.
If you’re looking for two low-maintenance couch potatoes to keep you company these girls are the perfect pair for you!

Adoption Process
If you should choose to adopt a dog from SEQ K9 Rescue Inc:
You will be asked to complete an Online Adoption Application.
Completing this form helps us to determine if the dog you are applying for will fit your family. Some dogs have special needs so we may be looking for a specific forever home.
After you have completed the Online Adoption Application, we will have the information to determine if you are a good match for the dog you are applying for. Sometimes we may recommend another dog we have in our care.
Keeping in mind some dogs are rather popular, this usually means we receive 100's of applications for the one dog.
If your application fits the needs of the dog we will send you an email requesting photos of your yard and proof of identity.
** Proof of identity is required to ensure we know who we are inviting to our foster carers home**
Next, we will arrange for you to meet the dog/puppy.
We ask that you bring along your children and your dog to meet your potential new family member.
Please remember sometimes there are several applications for the same dog so this process may take up to a week.
If your application is approved, now is the time to invest in a dog harness, lead, bedding and toys.
All adoption fees must be cleared before our dogs can be collected from our carers. Our carers are not permitted to accept cash. Bank deposit/transfers only.
We offer a 2 week trial period - if your new family member is not settling please contact SEQ K9 Rescue Inc via email immediately. We are happy to assist with training or advice if the dog has not settled. Most dogs do not settle within the first 24 hours, please understand your home and family are all new experiences for them.
If for any reason the dog needs to be returned to the rescue organisation, the adoption fee minus a $50 non-refundable deposit will be refunded to you. Your refund will be returned via bank transfer within 10 working days.
If the dog is returned after the trial period generally no refund will be available.
Interstate adoptions may be requested to supply additional information and photographs of the proposed environment for the dog. Interstate adopter must pay transport costs in addition to the adoption fee.
** With CoVid transport may not be available to all areas of Australia**
If the dog is to return from an interstate adoption, the adopter is to pay all costs to return the animal to SEQ K9 Rescue Inc in Brisbane.
We believe "All dogs deserve a forever home".
