About Emily
Emily is a girl who likes to manage her own social calendar.
Sometimes she'd rather enjoy a little peace and quiet, and other times she'll happily come over to ask for some attention. This gorgeous young calico has a sweet nature and enjoys a good pat, provided she gets to decide when it's time for one!
Emily has previously lived with children and two dogs, and was reportedly quite comfortable around her canine housemates. With children, she sometimes enjoyed playing but often preferred having her own space. She seems more comfortable around adults and may disappear for some quiet time when visitors arrive. She's not necessarily looking to be the centre of attention, but that doesn't mean she doesn't enjoy a little love and company.
Emily also has a creative streak when it comes to choosing her scratching spots, and unfortunately furniture and curtains have sometimes made the list! Her new family will need to provide plenty of suitable scratching posts, toys and enrichment, along with some gentle guidance to help her develop better habits. She'll also appreciate people who respect her boundaries rather than picking her up or handling her more than she enjoys.
At only one year old, Emily still has plenty of time to settle into a routine that works for her and her new family. With a comfortable home, a little understanding and plenty of opportunities to enjoy life on her own terms, this lovely girl has so much to offer.
We encourage you to come and meet Emily at our North Melbourne shelter as soon as possible, as our cats cannot be placed on hold.
