About Coco
Coco is a happy, affectionate one-year-old Staffy cross who is pretty much the ultimate package! Having absolutely thrived in foster care, she’s ready to find her forever family and become a much-loved part of the home. She adores cuddles on the couch, enjoys a good play and is happiest when she’s included in family life.
Friendly with people and other dogs, Coco has been sharing her home beautifully with an older male Golden Retriever. She respects his space, enjoys his calm company. She has been left alone for 8hr work days and could suit a full-time working household with another dog, as she settles well when left alone and doesn’t show signs of separation anxiety.
Coco is a clever girl who loves treats and is eager to please, making continued training a breeze. She’s still building confidence out in the world, but she learns quickly and loves copying the good behaviour of her foster uncle. She travels wonderfully in the car and enjoys relaxed, leisurely sniff walks rather than needing huge amounts of exercise. She can be a little enthusiastic on the lead at first and may jump up when greeting new people, but she settles quickly and has been friendly and calm in all her dog interactions.
Coco would suit an active family willing to continue her training as she matures. Older children would likely be a great fit, although her excitement during play means very young children may not be ideal. She has a keen interest in chasing birds, so a home with chickens may not be suitable. She showed little interest in the cat at her vet clinic, which is encouraging, although further introductions would be needed.
Like any young dog, Coco can occasionally find herself something to chew when bored, so ongoing enrichment and appropriate toys will help her succeed.
If you’re looking for an affectionate, sociable and clever companion who is already off to a wonderful start, Coco could be your girl. She’s ready to bring plenty of love, happy moments and couch cuddles to her forever home!
