About Frankie & Freddie
Meet Frankie and Freddie, a bonded pair of classic tabby sisters who embody everything people love about tabbies - soft hearts, quiet affection, and that special gentle nature that makes tabby cats such wonderful companions.
These two were deeply loved by their previous owner, but a move to a smaller, noisier city home with no outdoor access left them constantly anxious. Freddie spent much of her time hiding in their enclosed litter box, and both girls would run and hide at the slightest sound. Their person made the kind decision to find them a calmer life where they could truly be themselves, and reached out to us for help.
In a quieter foster home the real Frankie and Freddie quickly appeared. They were understandably a little shy at first, but before long they were out exploring and happily accepting pats from their foster dad. True to the loving nature of tabby cats, they have settled into a soft, easy rhythm of companionship, play and quiet affection.
Frankie is the cuddliest of the two - a little love bug who will cry for attention and always find a way to be near you. She rubs her head against you, curls up beside you on the couch, and makes sure you never feel alone. You can tell her apart by her adorable white-tipped tail and slightly smaller size.
Extremely food-motivated, she will remind you about mealtimes hours in advance and loves the routine of breakfast followed by a long nap, or dinner followed by a good kneading session. She has a cheeky hunter side (no fly or ant is safe) and adores sunny spots. She also loves a playful pounce on her sister, followed by thorough grooming sessions. Frankie enjoys being cuddled and patted (though a belly rub may end with a gentle grab of your hand), comes to a whistle, and greets new faces with curiosity.
Freddie is a little more reserved at first and takes her time warming up to new people, but once she feels safe she produces the biggest, most contented purr. She loves kneading, rubbing against her people, and simply sitting nearby doing her own thing. Loud or sudden noises can make her anxious, though she can adjust to steady background sounds like road noise given time.
She enjoys exploring a secure yard, climbing, and soaking up the sun, while still appreciating her own personal space.
Together these two gentle tabbies are incredibly loving and wonderfully low-maintenance. They already have each other for company, play and comfort, which means they simply add twice the purrs, twice the kneading and twice the quiet devotion to a home.
They would suit a calm household with a single person, a couple, retirees, or a family with older children, that can offer a peaceful environment and, ideally, some safe outdoor access or sunny windows. They are also great with dogs and curious about their new canine house mate.
Frankie and Freddie are ready to bring the classic, soft-hearted magic of tabby cats into a quieter home where they can relax and love freely.
They are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and located in Rowville with their amazing foster family.
If you have room in your heart (and on your couch) for two gentle, affectionate sisters who come as a perfectly matched pair, please get in touch. Twice the love is waiting.
About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
How You Can Help

We are always in need of foster carers. If you have a safe, loving temporary home and would like to help us care for a cat on their journey to their forever family, please get in touch. The more foster homes we have, the more cats we can save.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
