About Nova
** The beautiful
Nova is currently very urgent in a NSW Shelter and GWR have been asked to help find her a foster to adopt or adopter as she is very stressed in the shelter environment **
Meet Nova — a bright young girl ready for a fresh start 💛
Nova is an 11-month-old Border Collie cross with boundless energy, a love of fetch and so much to learn. She’s looking for a patient, committed person who can help her settle, feel secure and discover life beyond the shelter.
Still just a youngster, Nova hasn’t yet learnt how to play politely with other dogs. She can become very focused on them and wants the game to keep going, even when her playmate has had enough. The shelter has also observed some barrier reactivity towards dogs in its highly stressful environment. As her behaviour in a home is still uncertain, Nova is seeking a home as an only dog.
Nova was briefly adopted but returned following concerns about her interest in chickens. Her adopters reported that she responded well to direction, which is encouraging, but it's best she finds a new home without poultry.
A keen foodie, Nova has already begun training, and treats are a great way to engage her clever mind. Fetch is another firm favourite! She’ll thrive with someone who enjoys daily activity, reward-based training and helping her learn that switching off and resting can feel good too.
Nova needs more than exercise: she needs routine, understanding and time to decompress. Her new family will need to support her through the adolescent stage and patiently teach the skills she’s missed.
Nova is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, health checked and registered.
Shelter life is taking its toll on this beautiful young girl, and she urgently needs a suitable home where she can begin to find her feet.
Could you give Nova the fresh start she needs?
