About Marlee - 4 Year Old Border Collie
Meet Marlee – 4-year-old Tri-Coloured Border Collie
Marlee is a gorgeous girl who just loves having someone to love. She’s happiest being around her people, whether that’s having a cuddle on the couch, following you around the house or simply keeping you company while you go about your day. She really is an old soul in a young dog, with a sweet, affectionate nature and a love for the simple things in life.
Marlee loves attention and being included in whatever you’re doing. She has a playful side and enjoys her toys, but she’s just as happy settling down beside you for a cuddle. She’s a clever girl who loves her treats and responds well to food-based training. She’s still learning her manners, so patience, encouragement and positive reinforcement will help her continue to improve.
Marlee has made great progress with car travel and is now travelling really well. Out on walks, she’s generally more interested in saying hello to people and other dogs than barking at them, although she may occasionally join in if other dogs are barking.
She can be strong on the lead, so she’ll need someone confident who can safely manage her pulling and continue working on her lead manners. She’s also still getting used to internal stairs, as her previous home didn’t have any, so she’ll need a little patience and encouragement while she builds her confidence.
She’s doing really well with her toilet training and hasn’t had a single accident inside her foster home! Marlee sleeps indoors in her own bed and can be left alone for a few hours without any issues, but she wouldn’t suit a home where she’s left alone all day.
What home is Marlee looking for?
Marlee needs a calm, settled home with a family who has plenty of time to spend with her. She would suit a home with children aged 10 years and over, ideally with someone working from home or part-time, as she loves having her people around.
Marlee needs to be the only pet in the home, but she is friendly with other dogs when out and about.
A decent-sized backyard with secure, high fencing is a must, as she loves playing with her toys and having space to enjoy herself.
Marlee is still learning, but she’s making great progress. She just needs a family who’s willing to be patient with her, continue working on her training and give her the time she needs to settle in and feel comfortable.
She’s a loving, loyal girl with so much to offer the right family. We’d love to see her find a home where she can be herself, enjoy plenty of company and get all the love she deserves.
Could Marlee be the girl for you?
