❤️ MEET COBBY
Cobby is an easygoing, affectionate little fellow who seems to have made it his life's mission to be everyone's friend!
With his sweet face, rather serious old-man expression and happy, playful personality, he's an endearing little character who has fitted beautifully into foster family life.
Cobby absolutely loves people, particularly children. His foster family's youngsters, aged seven and nine, adore him, and the feeling is mutual. They can take him for walks, play games with him and even enjoy his company on the trampoline!
🐶 EVERYONE'S FRIEND
Cobby is a very sociable little dog who particularly enjoys the company of the resident dogs - a female Red Cattle Dog cross and a big black Labrador/Border Collie mix. Cobby is quite capable of wearing them out with endless games of chasey and tug-of-war!
He also loves interacting with Grandma's Maltese, when they come to visit. The Maltese is quite fussy about her dog friends but responds beautifully to Cobby's overtures.
Cobby is particularly friendly with the resident male Ragdoll, who seems quite happy with his company. The other two cats, however, tend to head in the opposite direction when they see him — and naturally, Cobby thinks this is an invitation to a game of chasey! After all, who could resist? Sensible supervision around cats will therefore be important.
🏡 A PROPER FAMILY DOG
Cobby is house-trained, sleeps indoors and is accustomed to being very much part of the family. He is not crate-trained.
He's gentle when taking treats from your hand and shows no food guarding tendencies — he's even happy to share his dinner with the cat!
He travels well in the car and enjoys being involved in whatever the family is doing.
And although he's a little dog, he has a surprisingly deep bark! He likes keeping an eye on what's happening outside and will certainly let you know if he spots something interesting.
🐾 A LITTLE MISCHIEF!
Cobby is still a youngster, and occasionally his curiosity gets the better of him.
Left to his own devices and being still a puppy, he's been known to investigate the recycling bin or climb onto the couch — even the dining table! Not surprisingly, he's much better behaved when his family is around.
Cobby enjoys his walks, although he can pull a little on the lead in his excitement. His recall is still a work in progress, so he must be kept on a lead when outside securely fenced areas.
He respects secure fencing, provided there are no obvious opportunities for escape.
❤️ COBBY'S IDEAL HOME
Cobby would be a lovely addition to a family looking for a friendly, playful and affectionate companion.
He would particularly enjoy a home with children and perhaps another sociable dog who appreciates a good game. As with any new canine friendship, introductions should be gradual and carefully supervised.
Most importantly, Cobby needs to be included in family life, with indoor privileges, plenty of companionship and opportunities to play.
He's a gentle, happy little fellow with a touch of mischief, a great sense of fun and an enormous capacity for friendship.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
