🐾 MEET MOOSE
Meet magnificent Moose, the biggest boy in Stella's beautiful Wildlings Litter!
Moose is a handsome, growing puppy who has been fortunate to spend his first weeks surrounded by love, attention and all the activity of a busy family home.
His mum, Stella, is an exceptionally sweet and affectionate Kelpie mix who came into ARK care from the pound in the early stages of pregnancy. She has been a devoted mother to her puppies, and her lovely temperament is one of the reasons we're so delighted with this litter.
Dad remains a mystery, although our vet suspects Border Collie heritage. Given Moose's size compared with his littermates, he may grow into a larger dog than some of his brothers and sisters.
🏡 A WONDERFULLY SOCIALISED PUPPY
Like his littermates, Moose has been raised with four children, the family's resident dog, Uncle Finny, and their cat, Uncle Fergus.
He's accustomed to the sounds, activities and companionship of everyday family life, giving him a wonderful foundation for his future home.
❤️ A LITTLE SETBACK — AND LOTS OF TLC
Moose was born with an umbilical hernia that was surgically repaired on 16 October. This is a minor procedure and common in puppies. He will make a full recovery.
But his devoted mum Stella was so concerned about him that she tried to pull of his Cone of Shame!
But perhaps the sweetest part of his recovery has been the attention of his young human foster sister, who sat beside his crate and read him stories while he rested. Check out the photo in the gallery.
🐕 HIS IDEAL HOME
With his Kelpie and likely Border Collie heritage, Moose will need a family prepared for the exercise, training and mental stimulation that intelligent working-breed dogs require.
As he matures, he'll enjoy an active lifestyle with plenty of opportunities to learn, explore and spend time with his people.
His ideal home will provide secure fencing, indoor privileges, consistent training and lots of companionship.
A friendly resident dog would be a bonus, although not essential.
For now, of course, Moose's activities must be restricted in accordance with his veterinarian's post-operative instructions.
✂️ DEFERRED DESEXING
Moose will be adopted under ARK's Deferred Desexing Program and must be desexed by 24 May 2027.
The cost of desexing is included in his adoption fee, subject to the terms of ARK's Deferred Desexing Puppy Adoption Contract.
🚗 INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS WELCOME
We welcome interstate applications and can assist with transport advice, quotations and arrangements once Moose is fit to travel.
💙 A BIG BOY WITH A LOVELY BEGINNING
Moose may be the biggest puppy in the litter, but he's still a baby with lots of growing and learning ahead of him.
With his devoted mum, four young human companions, Uncle Finny and Uncle Fergus, he's had a wonderful start in life.
Once he's fully recovered, this handsome boy will be ready to begin his next adventure with a family of his own.
