About Toad
Toad looks like he could bounce you out of a nightclub, but he'd much rather ask why you're leaving and whether he can come too.
This ridiculously handsome blue Staffy is built like a small fridge and has a heart roughly the same size. He falls in love quickly and approaches new friendships with the confidence of someone who has never considered that he might not be everyone's type. During his foster weekend, even the cat received a friendship application. The cat declined. Toad remained hopeful.
His ideal date? A leisurely stroll to the pub, a few admirers stopping by to compliment his excellent physique, then a snooze while you eat. He walks beautifully on lead, but please factor in breaks: this body was built for posing, and the cardio department is still finding its feet. At home, he offers exceptional cuddles and an opportunity to practice sleeping on the very edge of your own mattress.
Toad is still learning a few things about home life. Dog toys are apparently a baffling invention, while your slippers and shoes make perfect sense. Being attached to your feet does not reduce their appeal. He'll need patient guidance to develop some less inconvenient hobbies.
He also has some big feelings in that big body. Excitement, tiredness or the stress of settling somewhere new can spill over into jumping, mouthing and persistent shoe grabbing. These moments can be challenging, so he needs someone who can offer calm support, plenty of rest and time to learn. He's receiving behaviour medication, and our behaviour team will support his adopters as he settles in.
If you've got patience, a sense of humour and room for a chunky boy who will think you're the best thing that's ever happened to him, come and meet Toad. He's already quite sure you'll be friends.
