Hi, I'm Hugo – Your Handsome Little Silver Dapple! (Woolangaba)

Hi there! My name is Hugo, and I'm a handsome little black and silver dapple boy looking for my very own forever family.
I'm told I'm going to be a hard one to say goodbye to, and I think that's because I'm a pretty special little guy! I'm calm-natured, well-behaved and a very loving boy who knows his manners. But don't let that fool you – I still have a few cheeky dachshund tricks up my little paws!

I'm a real cuddle bug and there's nothing better than snuggling up with my favourite humans under the blankets. I'm happiest when I'm close to my people, sharing in whatever they're doing. I'm also wonderful with the young toddler in my current home, and I love being part of family life.

I've worked hard on my good manners, too! I'm toilet trained, know my sit and stay, respond well when you call my name and walk pretty nicely on my lead. I'm friendly with other dachshunds, dogs of all shapes and sizes, and even cats! I enjoy car trips, don't mind bath time and am quite happy sleeping in my own bed inside.
I love little humans too - they are such fun.

Now, I do have one little thing I'd love my new family to understand. I get anxious when my humans leave me alone. I really don't enjoy being on my own, and having another friendly dog around makes me feel much happier. I absolutely love the company of my current doggy pal, so a home with another canine companion would be wonderful!

I'm also a bit of a jumper, so I'll need a home with secure, solid fencing to keep me safe. I like to let my family know when strangers approach our home, and if the postie comes to visit, you can be sure I'll announce their arrival! I'm just looking out for my people. Thunderstorms can make me nervous, too, so a little comfort and reassurance when the weather gets wild would mean the world to me.

I'd love a family who:
-Is home more often than not, so I don't have to spend too much time alone.
-Has another friendly dog who could become my new best mate.
-Has secure fencing to keep my jumping adventures under control.
-Understands that I can feel anxious sometimes and will help me feel safe.
-Has plenty of love, cuddles and cosy blankets to share.
-Is ready to make a lifelong commitment to me.
I have so much love to give, and I'm hoping there's a special family out there who will see just how wonderful I am. I'm a little boy who wants to be loved, included and reassured that he's home to stay.

I promise to bring you cuddles, companionship, plenty of love and all the special moments that come with having a dachshund in your life.

All I'm asking for is a family who understands me, a furry friend to keep me company and a place where I can finally unpack my little paws and stay forever.
