About Alice STA014922
Meet Alice, a gorgeous little lady with a sweet face and a gentle soul who is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. Sadly, Alice was abandoned, so we don't know her history or what life has been like for her. What we do know is that this little sweetheart is very shy and nervous, and trusting people doesn't come easily to her. Slowly but surely, she is beginning to come out of her shell, giving us little glimpses of the beautiful girl hiding beneath her worried exterior.
Alice is still very much a work in progress and needs a special person with an abundance of patience, kindness and understanding. She won't be the type to rush into your arms or demand attention, but with a gentle approach, a calm environment and plenty of time, she can continue learning that humans can be trusted and loved. Alice needs someone who understands that building trust takes time and that even the smallest steps forward are something to celebrate.
This precious girl dreams of a quiet, peaceful home where she can feel safe, secure and loved without any pressure or expectations. Alice is FIV positive, so she will need a safe and secure indoor-only home to protect her health and prevent transmission to other cats. If you have a gentle heart, plenty of patience and the desire to make a real difference in a little cat's life, Alice could be the one for you. She may take time to blossom, but helping this beautiful girl discover what it means to be truly loved will be a reward worth waiting for!

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
