About Benny
Benny is an absolutely charming boy. He loves people. If you sit down, he will be on your lap before you know it! He loves having a chat, and if you talk to him, he'll chat back to you. He's absolutely fine with kids - they're humans and they can pat him after all!
One thing he does not like are other cats. He's a bit of a bully to the other cat in the house and this is why he is looking for a new home. He's fine with dogs, but he needs to be an only cat. He just wants all the human attention for himself.
He would be absolutely fine with a busy household. The more humans to pat him, chat to him and the more laps to sit on, all the better.
When there's no humans around he is happy sitting on the cat tree or in a sunny spot. He loves playing with toys, particularly when the humans are dangling those toys.
He's good with his litter, but he does like to wee in bathtubs sometimes. This is actually really common in cats, and anyone in rescue will know that it's actually quite handy. Saves on litter and it washes straight down.
We guarantee that if you give Benny a chance he will be the love of your life.
Medical notes
Benny previously had severe gingivitis and so has had most of his back teeth removed. But he is absolutely fine without them and has no issues eating.
Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption enquiry should be made via
https://form.jotform.com/shellys.place.rescue/adoption-enquiry
2. Once your application has been received, one of our volunteers will contact you for a phone interview. This is to determine whether one of our cats or kittens will be a good fit for your home. We all want long-term success in placing rescue animals, so finding the best fit for the animal AND the family is very important.
3. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place if the application is approved.
4. A property check will take place via a video. Once this has been successfully completed, adoption paperwork finalised and the adoption donation processed, the pet can be collected from foster care.
5. A 14 day settling-in period commences once the animal has been collected from foster care.
6. Adoption is finalised after 14 days. Paperwork/records will be included in an adoption pack.
7. All animals will be rehomed desexed, 1st vaccinated, microchipped and treated monthly for fleas and intestinal worms. Once the adoption is finalised, the new owners are responsible for all vaccinations and preventative treatments.
As we are run entirely of volunteers we endeavour to respond to your enquiry as soon as we can. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to hold any animals. Please only apply if you are ready to adopt now.
