About Nancy
Meet Nancy – A Beautiful Japanese Spitz Girl Looking for a Patient and Loving Home 🤍
Nancy is a beautiful 2-year-old Japanese Spitz girl with a gentle soul who, sadly, has never had the chance to experience what it truly means to be a beloved family pet.
For the first two years of her life, Nancy was kept in a shed and used for breeding. As a result, she is an extremely timid and fearful girl who is still learning how to trust humans and enjoy the simple things in life that every dog deserves.
After spending around five weeks in foster care, Nancy has slowly started to come out of her shell. When she first came into our care, she was quite underweight, but she has since gained weight and is now in healthy condition.
Nancy loves food, but she is still too frightened to eat in front of people. She prefers to eat when nobody is watching and will still run away when approached. However, once she is in your arms, she actually quite enjoys being cuddled. ❤️
It is clear that Nancy is curious about humans and wants to be loved and given attention, but her fear and uncertainty are still holding her back. She needs someone who understands that trust cannot be rushed and that every little step forward is a big achievement for a girl like her.
🐾 Nancy MUST have another dog in her new home. No exceptions.
Nancy is learning how to be a dog by watching and following the other dogs in her foster home. She gains confidence from their presence and feels more comfortable having them around.
She gets along with other small, gentle dogs, and an ideal home would be one with a friendly, gentle dog of a similar age who can keep her company, help her feel safe and show her that life can be wonderful.
If you already have a small, gentle dog who would enjoy having a companion, that would be a big tick for Nancy!
Nancy is a gentle soul with a sweet nature. She has so much potential, but she will need a special family who is willing to give her the time, patience and understanding she needs to blossom.
She may not be the dog who runs up to greet you or happily jumps into your lap from day one. Instead, you will need to earn her trust, respect her boundaries and allow her to progress at her own pace.
But imagine the joy of watching this frightened little girl gradually gain confidence, learn to trust you and discover that human hands can offer comfort, affection and love rather than fear.
Nancy deserves to experience life as a cherished family member, to feel safe in her own home and to know that she will never again be treated as a breeding dog.
She needs someone who sees beyond her shyness and understands that, beneath all that beautiful, fluffy white fur, there is a little girl who simply needs a chance. 🤍
🏡 Nancy’s Care and Daily Routine
Feeding:
* Royal Canin kibble available 24/7.
* Chicken necks for lunch.
* A healthy home-cooked dinner made with chicken mince, chicken liver, vegetables and rice or pasta.
Please remember that Nancy is still frightened of eating in front of people, so her new family will need to be patient and allow her to feel safe during mealtimes.
Grooming:
Nancy has a beautiful double coat that requires regular brushing to keep it in good condition. Professional grooming every 4–5 weeks is also necessary.
❤️ Is Nancy the Girl for You?
Nancy is looking for a quiet, patient and loving home with an existing small, gentle dog. She needs a family who will not expect too much from her too soon, who understands that building trust takes time and who will celebrate every little milestone along the way.
She needs a home where she can feel safe, learn at her own pace and finally discover what it means to be loved unconditionally.
If you have carefully read Nancy’s profile and genuinely believe you can offer her the home she needs, please help us get to know you by completing our pre-adoption questionnaire below.
Nancy has already been through so much in her short life. Now, she deserves the chance to learn what it means to be someone’s beloved pet. 🤍🐾
