About Berry and Dragon
Assisted Rehoming.
Dragon and Berry are a bonded pair, Berry has special needs. Seeking a new home for them or a rescue group to take them on. ( no charge to reputable rescue)
Dragon is a Maltese/Pomeranian cross, female, 6 years old.
Berry is a Dachshund/ Poodle cross, 2 years old, who has IVDD. Berry uses a wheelchair, and is incontinent (requires nappy changes). She does not require manual bladder expression. She only needs her washable/disposable nappy changed twice a day. She has the softest personality and relies heavily on Dragon for comfort.
Despite paralysis in her back legs from IVDD she is in very good health. She does not require any medication. Her physiotherapist explicitly said she is the perfect candidate for a wheelchair. She is incredibly active, bright, alert, completely pain-free, and she still catches the ball mid-air when you throw it. She still absolutely loves fetching the ball in the water and if you place her in a kiddie pool with a life vest she will happily play fetch all day.
Items Included With Berry: She will come with absolutely everything she needs so there is no cost to her new owner/ rescue group including her $900 custom wheelchair, home mobility adjustments, crates, orthopedic bedding, orthopedic feeding bowls, a full supply of 20 washable nappies, disposable nappies, disposable pee pads, washable pee pads, vet mat and fleece mats for her bed, her custom harness with her name on it, leash, car seat, treat puzzles, toys, a kiddie pool, and a mermaid life vest.
Dragon
Dragon is credibly independent, she’s more like a cat in this regard and went to puppy school. She is very well-behaved and loves meeting new people.
Both dogs only bark when there is someone at the door.
Items Included With Dragon: She will come with her own bed, her custom harness with her name on it, a hands-free leash, and her car seat.
They have both stayed with pet sitters who have children, other dogs and cats.
Dragon And Berry need to be placed with someone who is home a lot, and is able to take Berry‘s special needs in their stride and help her reach her full potential. Not everyone is cut out to be the carer for a special needs dog, but with the right placement Dragon and Berry will thrive and lead happy, fulfilling lives, disability or not.
Both dogs come desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
