About Bolt STA015717
Meet Bolt, a handsome gentleman with a gentle heart who is still learning that the world can be a kind and loving place. Bolt came to us as a stray, so we don't know his story or what life has been like for him. What we do know is that beneath his worried exterior is a very sweet boy who desperately wants to love and trust, but just needs a little help finding his confidence.
Bolt is a sensitive soul who can find the world a little overwhelming. He's not quite ready to throw himself into your arms, but with a gentle approach, plenty of patience and perhaps a little fish-flavoured food (his absolute favourite!), you'll be well on your way to winning his heart. He wants to make friends and enjoy affection; he's just still learning that humans can be trusted.
This lovely fellow dreams of a quiet, peaceful home without children or canines, where he can settle in at his own pace without feeling pressured. Bolt is FIV positive, so he must have an indoor-only home to protect his health and prevent transmission to other cats in the neighbourhood. He needs someone who understands that trust takes time and that even the smallest steps forward are worth celebrating.
If you have a calm home, a kind heart and the patience to help a worried boy blossom, Bolt could be your perfect companion. With love, understanding and a little encouragement, this sweet gentleman has every chance to flourish and discover just how wonderful life with a loving family can be. Sometimes the most rewarding friendships are the ones that take a little time to grow!

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
