About Phoenix SUA015626
Meet Phoenix, a BIG, handsome fellow with an even bigger personality! This magnificent gentleman knows exactly what he likes, what he doesn't like and, most importantly, how he expects his world to operate. Phoenix is a guy who knows his own mind and isn't afraid to share his opinions. Life with this larger-than-life character will certainly never be boring!
Phoenix is a busy, inquisitive boy who loves being around his people and keeping them company. He's quite the playful fellow, especially when catnip is involved, and enjoys having plenty to keep his mind and paws occupied. While he's generally a chilled-out guy, everything needs to be on his terms. Phoenix has boundaries and expects them to be understood and respected. Push him too far and he'll happily remind you who's in charge! He also has a rather particular bathroom routine and insists on having two litter trays – one for number ones and another for number twos. A gentleman has standards, after all!
Having never been free-roaming, Phoenix must have an indoor-only home, preferably with secure access to his very own catio where he can safely enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the great outdoors. He would love a home with plenty of space to explore, opportunities for playtime and people who enjoy having a feline companion involved in their daily lives. Phoenix has previously lived with dogs and may be willing to share his kingdom with a suitable canine companion again, provided introductions are handled carefully.
Phoenix needs a cat-savvy family who appreciates a strong personality and understands that affection and interaction must always be on his terms. Give him the space, respect and independence he deserves, along with plenty of company, enrichment and, of course, his two very important litter trays, and you'll have a wonderfully entertaining companion. If you're looking for a big, handsome character with plenty of charm, a cheeky streak and a very clear set of house rules, Phoenix could be your perfect match!

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
