About Dash (Mr Sausage)
Hi, I’m your future little shadow - Dash. Affectionately known as, Mr Sausage.
I’m a sweet, cuddly boy looking for a loving home of my own, and after a bit of a rough start, I’m finally ready to find my people.
I found myself in the pound through no fault of my own, but since coming into foster care I’ve settled in beautifully and shown everyone just how lovely I am.
I’m a very chill, quiet little guy who absolutely adores being close to my people. I’m house trained, happiest indoors and, if I’m being completely honest, I think the best place for a Dachshund is tucked under the blankets in bed beside you.
I get along well with children, big and small dogs, and I’ve also been good around cats. I’m not the type who needs to be in the middle of everything. I’m pretty content just pottering around, having a cuddle and keeping you company.
I also love my food. A lot. In fact, I may have loved it a little too much because I am carrying a few extra kilos at the moment. Nothing a sensible diet and some gentle exercise won’t help with.
I also have some great news. When I first came into care, I tested positive for heartworm, but I have now undergone a three-month treatment plan and I’m currently in the final few weeks of medication before treatment is officially complete. That means I’m now able to start looking for my forever home. Yippee!
There are still a few important ongoing requirements following my treatment. I’ll need to remain on a monthly heartworm tablet until June 2027, followed by ongoing annual heartworm prevention injections to help keep me protected from reinfection.
Because I’ve had heartworm, it’s also best that I’m not overly exerted with long runs or intense exercise in future. Thankfully, that suits me just fine. Cardio is hardio, especially when you’ve got little legs.
What I really need is a home where I can live indoors, be part of the family, sleep somewhere soft, get plenty of cuddles and be thoroughly spoilt.
If you’re looking for a loyal, quiet and affectionate little companion who would much rather snuggle than sprint, I might be exactly who you’ve been looking for.-
