Profile:
Hi! I’m Toby! 🐾 I'm a sweet, loving boy with a playful personality and a heart full of affection. Every day is an opportunity for a new adventure, and I love getting involved in whatever fun is happening around me. Whether it's playing a game of fetch, learning new tricks, or spending quality time with my favourite people, I'm always keen to make the most of the day. I'm a clever boy who enjoys learning, and with some encouragement, positive reinforcement, and plenty of praise, I'm sure we could have lots of fun discovering new things together!
As much as I love having fun, I also have a sensitive side that makes me extra special. I'm a boy who appreciates reassurance and companionship, and sometimes I can feel a little worried when things get too quiet or when I'm separated from the people I'm attached to. I've shown some signs of separation anxiety, which means I'll benefit from a family who understands that being left alone may take some getting used to. I'm not trying to be difficult; I just need a little extra help learning that it's okay to relax when my humans aren't right beside me.
Having a predictable daily routine will be really important for me. Knowing when it's time for walks, meals, playtime, rest, and spending time with my family can help me feel more secure and confident in my surroundings. I'd benefit from a family who can provide consistency, companionship, and gentle guidance while gradually helping me become more comfortable with periods of separation. Building up alone time slowly, providing enrichment activities, and making sure I have a comfortable place to relax will help set me up for success. I'd love a family who understands that this process takes time and who will celebrate my progress along the way.
I've also shown signs of nervousness in certain situations, so finding the right home environment will be important for helping me feel safe and settled. I'd be best suited to a household with no children under 6 years of age, where interactions can be calm and predictable and I can have the space I need when things feel a little overwhelming. Older children who understand how to interact respectfully with dogs may be a better fit, provided everyone is comfortable and introductions are managed appropriately. I would love a family who can recognise when I need reassurance, give me time to process new experiences, and help me build confidence at my own pace.
When it comes to meeting my potential new family, it's important that everyone has the chance to get to know me before making things official. All family members will be required to meet me, so we can make sure we're a good match and everyone feels comfortable. If you already have dogs at home, I'll also need to meet your resident dogs before adoption. These introductions will help everyone get acquainted and allow us to assess how we might fit together. Finding the right match is important, and I want my next home to be one where everyone can feel happy and secure.
My ideal family will be one that appreciates both sides of my personality: the fun-loving boy who's ready to play and learn, and the sensitive sweetheart who sometimes needs a little extra reassurance. I'd love people who will keep me mentally and physically stimulated, help me continue learning, and give me the structure I need to thrive. Training games, regular exercise, enrichment activities, and positive reinforcement will all be wonderful ways to help me feel fulfilled and strengthen the bond we share.
I know I may need some extra patience as I settle into a new home, but I'm hoping to find someone who sees that as an opportunity to help me grow. With consistency, kindness, and a little understanding, I can work towards feeling more confident and comfortable in my surroundings. I don't need someone who expects me to be perfect straight away; I need someone willing to work with me, support me, and help me learn that the world can be a safe and happy place.
If you're looking for a sweet, playful companion who will keep you smiling, enjoy learning alongside you, and reward your kindness with plenty of love, I could be your boy! I'm ready to start a new chapter with a family who will embrace my personality, help me through my worries, and give me the time and support I need to flourish.
So, what do you say? Could you be the person I've been waiting for? I'm dreaming of a home filled with love, routine, fun, and understanding. With the right family by my side, I'm excited to discover all the wonderful adventures that lie ahead.
