About Moxie
Moxie may be ten years old, but nobody seems to have told her she's supposed to slow down. This sweet Staffy still has plenty of personality, loves a good zoomie and has been showing us a fun, affectionate side since arriving at the shelter as a stray.
She can take a moment to feel completely comfortable with someone new, but once she's had that chance, Moxie warms up nicely and enjoys being around people. She'll do best with a gentle approach to handling, pairing things like touch and harnessing with treats and praise so those experiences continue to feel positive. Calm, force-free training will suit her beautifully.
Moxie may be suitable to live with another well matched dog following a successful meet and greet, and she is suited to a home with secondary school aged children or older. She can get quite excited when there's a lot happening around her, so a family who can give her some guidance, regular walks and a nice predictable routine will help her settle in.
As an older girl, Moxie does have a few medical considerations, including some skin changes, lumps and age-related wear. There's no need to feel overwhelmed by that though. If you're interested in adopting her, one of our vets will talk you through everything clearly before you make a decision, including what has already been treated and what may need monitoring in the future.
Moxie still has so much affection, fun and companionship to offer, and she deserves the chance to spend her senior years being loved as part of a family.
No appointment is needed, so come and visit her at our North Melbourne shelter. If you're interested in adopting Moxie, our team can arrange a meet and greet. If you have children or another dog at home, please bring them along so they can meet her too.
