Adoption information
About Ginny
Ginny is a female tortoiseshell domestic short hair cat available for adoption in Rozelle (Sydney, New South Wales).
Ginny is a calm, gentle senior cat, and her guardian calls her a teddy bear in cat form. Thick, plush and very photogenic, she's the cat the vet staff describe as calm and sweet.
Her purr starts at the slightest touch, and it's loud.
She's independent enough to nap on her own cushions and affectionate enough to press her face into the crook of your neck.
A little about Ginny:
🐾 Loves pressing her face into the crook of your neck
🐾 Adores belly rubs, and rolls onto her back when she's feeling affectionate
🐾 Lights up at mealtimes and winds around your legs as they approach, so watch your toes
🐾 Wins hearts with a happy drool when she purrs
🐾 Is highly intelligent and reads a room well
Mornings begin with Ginny getting up to greet you and ask for breakfast, which she eats with real enthusiasm. After that, it's a long nap on her favourite floor cushions.
She knows your rhythm. A quiet spot nearby while you work, a place at your side when you stop.
In the evening she joins you on the couch, sitting beside you or stretched along the back of it near your head.
Her affection arrives on her terms: a rub around your legs, a seat that touches yours, and then the purr starts. She's happy to be patted almost anywhere.
She's relaxed about being scooped up for a cuddle, and a photo shoot is no trouble. Ginny poses like a supermodel.
With new people, she takes a calm, considered look first. She sits back, works out who's friendly, and comes forward to those who give her space.
A calm home with gentle sounds suits her best. High-pitched noises, like packing tape being pulled, are the one thing that unsettles her.
Ginny suits a guardian who appreciates a mellow couch companion, and a home without resident dogs gives her routine room to land.
Picture breakfast time: Ginny weaving around your ankles, tail held high, her purr already going.
Ginny is ready. The loud purr, the cushion naps, the evening company.

Medical notes
Ginny is a senior cat with a few long-term health needs that her vets have been looking after. She has early-stage kidney disease, and her most recent bloods show her kidney values holding steady.
Alongside this, she has arthritis in both elbows, supported with regular joint injections that her guardian gives at home. She also has a sensitive digestive system, managed through her diet and a laxative, and raised blood calcium levels that her vet has been monitoring. Her vet has professionally cleaned her teeth.
Ginny will suit a guardian who is comfortable with regular vet care for a senior cat. Her complete patient history is on file and ready to be forwarded to her new guardian's veterinary team.
Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
