About Scruffy
Introducing Scruffy, a very gentle, happy and affectionate little boy who will make a wonderful companion pet for the right household. This dog absolutely loves people, and he will form close bonds to members of his family; he is a typical velcro dog who loves to be on laps getting belly rubs.
Scruffy is a long-haired Jack Russell, weighs about 5 kgs and is fully grown. (DOB 31/08/2025) Typically, he loves to explore the garden and ensures that the skinks get their daily exercise. Scruffy loves playing with toys and he will eagerly fetch a ball or little squeaky toy. He gets very excited at the prospect of going for a walk and welcomes getting his harness on.
Scruffy is in care with other dogs (male and female, small and medium) and gets on well with all of them. However, he needs to be carefully introduced to medium and large dogs as he can be rather intimidated by them until he knows that they are friendly.
Scruffy loves all types of food and is definitely not a fussy eater. He is toilet trained and sleeps soundly all night. Scruffy will let you know if a stranger approaches the house, but he is not a yappy little dog. He also has excellent recall as he loves to be with and please his people.
Because he loves company, Scruffy is best suited to a home situation where he is not alone for long periods of time. He will do particularly well with another small dog (preferably female) which is similar in size and not too young and an owner who is home more often than not. Although Scruffy loves going for walks, exploring the garden and playing outdoors with his foster siblings, he is predominantly an indoor dog; his favourite place is beside his people whatever they are doing.
If you have any questions or would like to find out more about this special dog, his foster mum would love to have a chat with you. To ensure a reply to enquiries about adoption, please tell us a little about yourself and your family and what you can offer this special little dog.
