🐾 HELLO, I'M VADER!
Hello there! My name is Vader, and I'm a handsome young Kelpie × Border Collie looking for a family of my very own.
I recently came into ARK's care after being surrendered by my previous family. I was very much loved, but I had developed a habit of escaping when they were out because I was feeling lonely.
The good news is that I haven't tried escaping at all in my foster home, where I have other dogs to keep me company. Having some four-legged friends makes all the difference.
❤️ MY FOSTER MUM THINKS I'M PRETTY SPECIAL
In fact, she says:
"He is such a good boy I could have 10 of him!"
Now, I don't want to boast, but that's quite a recommendation, don't you think?
Here's what else you should know about me:
✔️ I get along with dogs, cats and children
✔️ I'm housetrained
✔️ I know my basic obedience commands
✔️ I walk nicely on the lead
✔️ I love water
✔️ I'm generally quiet and only bark when appropriate
✔️ I have moderate energy levels
I was my Mum's running companion in my previous home, so I'd be delighted to join you for a jog or some lovely walks.
Although I'm a Kelpie × Border Collie, my foster mum says I'm more Kelpie than Border Collie in temperament - not sure what that means. I'm an active, intelligent fellow, but apparently not "super energetic".
🐓 NOBODY'S PERFECT!
My foster mum had a hard time finding anything negative to say about me.
But I have to admit that I have been known to chase chickens, but I have made friends with sheep and I'm fine with cats.
If you have livestock or poultry, we'll need to take introductions slowly and carefully, with appropriate supervision. After all, I do have some working-dog instincts!
🏡 MY IDEAL HOME
What I'd really love is a home where I'm included in family life and have plenty of companionship.
I'd be particularly happy with another friendly dog to keep me company, especially when my humans are busy.
I'll also need:
• Secure fencing
• Regular walks, play and exercise
• Mental stimulation and opportunities to use my clever brain
• Indoor privileges and plenty of time with my family
I'm a family dog, not a working dog, so would love an active family that enjoys having their dog involved in everyday life.
Most importantly, I don't want to be left feeling lonely again.
🚗 INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS WELCOME
Don't worry if you live a long way from Warwick!
ARK welcomes interstate adoption applications. Their volunteers are happy to explain the available transport options, obtain quotes and assist with travel arrangements to help me reach my new home safely and comfortably...and I like riding in a car.
💙 COULD I BE YOUR NEW BEST MATE?
I'm handsome, friendly, well-mannered, house-trained and apparently such a good boy that my foster mum would happily have ten of me!
Surely there's a family out there with room for just one?
I'd love to meet you!
