About Buddy
Introducing Buddy!
Buddy is a veeeeeery obese Mini Foxie born 16th August 2022.
If you can believe it, this gorgeous fella currently weighs in at 13kg and he started his weightloss journey the moment he was surrendered to us three days ago. He will need an owner who is dedicated to his continued weightloss, so he can get back to living a fit & healthy lifestyle.
Sadly Buddy's owner has recently passed away and his family weren't in a position to take him in. There were two other dogs at home, however they were quite elderly and in quite poor health so under advice from their vet they were both put to sleep. This means that not only has Buddy lost his favourite human companion, but his two fur brothers as well.
Given everything he's gone through, no one would blame him if he was crying/howling all day, or if he was completely shut down, but since being at the facility Buddy has been an incredibly sweet boy and still so excited about life. He is clearly desperate for love & affection and considering his size, he's still quite energetic.
Buddy tested quite well with other dogs at the facility. He met a large male & a small female and he got along well with both. We believe Buddy would be suitable to live with another dog or be the spoilt only "child" at home. If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Buddy was unfazed by our facility cat. We believe he could be suitable to live with cats, if given a slow & controlled introduction to them.
Buddy appeared unfazed by our resident roosters. We believe he could be suitable to live with caged pocket pets, if given a slow & controlled introduction to them.
Buddy has shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety since being at the facility, however his surrender profile does state that he has shown mild signs of anxiety, so he may be best suited to a home where someone can be with him more often than not.
If you think you could be that furever family for Buddy, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900272 to organise a meet and greet.
Buddy’s adoption fee is $600, and this includes his desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. Buddy is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Buddy is currently located in East Maitland.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
