About Oscar
Meet Oscar!
Oscar is a big, lovable, goofy boy with an even bigger heart. He absolutely thrives on human companionship and would love a home where he can be included as part of the family, with indoor/outdoor access so he can spend plenty of time with his people.
This handsome lad is very affectionate and enjoys gentle pats and attention from everyone he meets. Oscar is a clever boy too, already knowing how to sit and shake with both paws! As a large dog, he will benefit from continued training and clear boundaries, particularly around keeping all four paws on the ground and practicing calm manners when he's excited.
Oscar is highly food-motivated, making him a great candidate for ongoing training. To help slow down his meals and provide valuable mental enrichment, we recommend feeding him from enrichment toys and puzzle feeders. He has also been very gentle when taking treats.
When it comes to exercise, Oscar enjoys his walks and generally travels well on lead, though his strength can catch people off guard at times. Continued work on loose-lead walking will help him become the perfect walking companion. He especially loves taking in all the sights and smells, so long "sniffari" adventures would be right up his alley. Oscar is a social butterfly who would happily stop to say hello to everyone along the way!
Playtime is another favourite pastime, particularly when balls are involved. If you've got a toy box and a throwing arm, you'll have a friend for life.
Oscar may be open to living with another dog, but any resident dogs must meet him prior to adoption. He is a social boy and can become frustrated if another dog isn't engaging with him, which may lead to barking. As with any large dog, interactions with children should always be supervised, as Oscar doesn't always realise just how big he is.
If you're looking for a loving, social, fun-filled companion who will happily join you on adventures and then soak up all the affection at home (and you probably won't even need to bend down to pet him!), Oscar might just be your perfect match.
