About Bowie
Meet Bowie!
At just 9 months old, sweet Bowie came to us through no fault of his own and is still finding his feet in a big, sometimes scary world. Shelter life has been overwhelming for this young boy, and he can find it difficult to show his true personality in such a busy environment.
But underneath that worried exterior is a lovely little cat who is just waiting to feel safe.
Bowie spent some time in foster care and began to really come out of his shell. His loving foster carers got to see a glimpse of the cat he could become in the right home. He discovered that he really enjoys gentle pats, grooming and hanging out with other kitties. Once he starts to feel comfortable, he can appreciate the kindness and affection of his humans.
Bowie will need a patient, understanding home that allows him to settle in at his own pace. He may take a little time to trust you, but with a calm environment, a gentle approach and plenty of love, he has the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion. He may also do very well in a home with another cat to keep him company and help him come out of his shell.
He's currently on some medication to help with his anxiety at the shelter, and when he's adopted he will be sent home with enough to wean off and help him through the transition period into his forever home.
This young boy deserves the chance to grow up feeling safe, secure and loved, rather than spending his days feeling frightened. If you'd like to meet beautiful Bowie, come on down to our North Melbourne shelter any time during our opening hours.
Bowie is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Bowie - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
