Hi, I’m Patches — a gorgeous tortoiseshell girl with a big heart. I’ve spent much of my life looking after myself, and I’m now learning that I don’t have to anymore.

Nature
I came into care as a mumma and did an amazing job raising my four beautiful babies. I’m still a shy and cautious girl around humans, but I’m slowly discovering that people can be kind, gentle and trustworthy. I may not come running for cuddles straight away, but I’m making wonderful progress and my personality is starting to shine through.

One of the quickest ways to my heart? Creamy treats! Give me one and suddenly those scary humans don’t seem quite so scary. If you’re holding one, you may even be rewarded with something very special — a head scratch!

I’m learning that head scratches can actually be pretty wonderful, especially when they come with my favourite treats. These little moments show just how much potential I have once I feel completely safe.

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
I’m comfortable around other cats and would be happy to have a feline friend, provided introductions are done properly.

I’m tolerant of respectful dogs and can live with them with a slow, careful introduction and plenty of opportunities to retreat somewhere I feel safe.

Likes / Dislikes
I absolutely love creamy treats and food — they’re definitely one of the best ways to win me over! I like having my own space where I can feel safe and comfortable.
Sudden movements are scary, so I need people who will approach me gently and calmly. I’m learning to enjoy gentle head scratches when I feel comfortable.

My PURR-fect home would be a patient home that understands trust doesn’t happen overnight and will celebrate my little wins along the way. I don’t need someone expecting an instant lap cat; I need someone willing to let me become the cat I’m meant to be. Routine, yummy food and lots of creamy treats, I’m showing that there’s a sweet and affectionate side hiding underneath my cautious exterior, give me time, and I may just surprise you with how much love I have to give.
